    • Alsok 04 has major applications in the production of API-tannate formulations. Such tannate salts have a number of advantages: in products such as phenylephrine tannate, the tannate derivative imparts improved stability compared to the free base or other more traditional “salts”. Due to this increased stability these tannates can be used in slow release formulations allowing for an extended pharmaceutical action and thus reduce the number of administrations of the drug.
    • Other examples of such slow release compounds are dextromethophan tannate, dextrochlorpheniramine tannate, but anti-histamine and other API tannates are also known and have been in use for considerable time in both prescription drug formulations and over the counter remedies such as cough syrups.

    Alsok 04 is available in 25 kg fibre drums lined with an food-contact compliant inner polyethylene bag.

    Storage & Handling

    Storage and Shelf Life Conditions
    • Alsok 04 does not require special storage conditions and has a shelf life of min. 5 years if stored in a dry area in its original closed packaging. The product is not frost sensitive and normal ambient storage conditions (i.e. 5 - 25°C, RH < 70 %) suffice. Prolonged exposure of Alsok 04 to light can cause a gradual colour shift. This does not influence technical performance of the product unless colour is a critical parameter in the application.
    • Storage of Alsok 04 open to the atmosphere can result in moisture uptake from the surroundings, eventually leading to lumping. Therefore reseal the inner plastic bag and keep the lid on the fibre drum if Alsok 04 is not in use.Due to its granular form Alsok 04 produces little or no dust during handling.
