- Physiologic and healthcare applications: Digestive. Appetite stimulant. Spasmolytic, carminative (used for bloating and flatulence). Anti-nausea (morning sickness, kinetosis). Cardio-tonic, anti-thrombotic, prevention of platelet aggregation. Anti-arthritic, anti-rheumatic (also used in rheumatoid arthritis). Analgesic (used for migraine headaches). Used in ayurvedic medicine as rasayana (rejuvenative), anti-dysmenorhheic and emmenagogue. Flavoring agent. Topical use: antimicrobial.
- Toxicological data: plant extract of natural origin for which no experimental data are available for acute toxicity, by analogy with chemically similar products are assumed a moderate level of acute toxicity
