AGEGUARD™ HP16 is a plant-derived lipid agent consisting of hydroxyproline (a natural amino acid essential for skin collagen synthesis) and palmitic acid (a natural fatty acid). It has a naturally high affinity for skin proteins. This white granular powder has a faint odor. It is insoluble in water, alcohol, and acetone, but miscible in propylene glycol. It helps reduce wrinkles and provides volume, suppleness, and a firmer tone to the skin. In in-vitro studies, it has been found to stimulate the synthesis of collagen fibers and inhibit age-promoting elastase enzymes, thus maintaining the integrity of the skin barrier.
