Through a proprietary manufacturing process, Prospec Chemicals has developed a new line of chemically enhanced xanthate, increasing its strength without significantly decreasing its selectivity. MAX Xanthates exhibit many of the characteristics and advantages of Xanthates. MAX xanthates have been designed for application in the following applications:
- Flotation of, but not limited to, copper, copper-molybdenum, copper-gold, gold in pyrite
- Flotation of copper with native, oxide and oxidized copper minerals that have been pretreated with sulphidizing chemistries.
- Coarse copper, copper-moly, copper-gold and gold in pyrite.
- Sulphur reduction in tailings.

Storage & Handling
- Storage and Handling Information
Storage MAX: Xanthate should be stored in a cool, dry, and well vented space. It should be kept out of direct sunlight.
Handling: Safe handling of MAX Xanthates requires the use of proper personal protective equipment such as rubber boots, high fit rubber gloves, coveralls, a properly fitted respirator with the appropriate cartridges, safety glasses, splash apron and face shield.
Handling Systems: Handling systems should be manufactured to ensure that none of the components can be compromised by the chemical nature of MAX Xanthate and its components. It is recommended that only mild steel and/or stainless steel be used for all components of the handling system. It is also recommended that the MAX Xanthate system and any storage tanks be full discharge conical bottom, as this prevents the buildup of precipitates and decomposition products, also making it easier to service and clean.
